Year 5, Mrs Robbetts

This week the weather had changed; a little warmer and not so gray! Arriving at the school I spotted my first snow drops of the year, together with the willow animal sculptures...spring is in the air? I met up with 5R, very keen to do some woodwork, make mountainside shelters and cook puff puffs, aka doughnuts (African style!) Like Year 6, everyone is making good progress with safe tool use, coupled with good imagination. This week I showed how to make a butter spreader, using an end of a length of hazel, a draw knife and a shave horse.
We cooked puff puffs and marshmallows. Well done everyone!
