Year 3, Mrs O'Connor and Miss Hucks, Spring watch

Another cold morning! Some keen Year 3s came out, looking for different rock types and soils. We found limestone, pebbles, clay, sandy soil, muddy soil and broken down leaf mould. It was amazing to find the different soils and rocks in the school grounds. Marcus, from the Cameroon, came with us today, his first time. The children enjoyed getting to know him asking some good questions. Some very sensible questions were asked. After this we ended with den building and a small fire to keep us warm, cook popcorn and melt marshmallows. Thankfully the sun came out and warmed us up!
